One of Black Loon's most challenging projects to date, we were contracted by Prime Restaurants to supply millwork for their new Casey's facility in Sault Ste. Marie. A six figure project that had to be completed in 4 weeks. Our team was ready for the challenge. The project included 66ft of bench seating, 56ft of booth seating, 66 table tops, 2 POS stations, 1 hostess station, 1 breakfast counter and corner cafe desk, wash room vanities, menu board, shimmer light screen, lighted feature wall, all trims and wall panels. The owners were very impressed and we have been asked to look at other restaurants and bars.

St John Devine Church, Sudbury
Customer required a custom railing to surround their new ramp. For the most part the plans were a basic guide. After an initial site inspection we put together a design that was structural and appealing. We had one problem with the hand rail brackets which had to be changed for identical brackets that had ANSI documentation. Other than that and a few minor site glitches the job came out looking great and the customer is very pleased with the job.
Sault Federal Airport - New International Customs
We were selected to make the new mobile PIL BOOTHES and tables. The booths are being used as compartments for the customs people to interview passengers as they arrive home from their international flight. They are four sided with a floor-door-desk and frosted glass. We constructed the booths as per plans with changes to suit the conditions at the airport. These booths were constructed with casters so they could be rolled off the floor between flights. No pictures yet I suppose I will have to book a flight to Mexico in order to get my pictures. Hopefully pictures by our next edition
Sault College Multimedia Podium
Sault college podium was a design built piece. The owner came in with a sketch and we had to take their sketch and rework it to suit the infrastructure. Some features include pull out trays for their document camera—sliding shelf for lap top—mounting table for the creston control panel and smart board. The whole structure was built to house all the requirements for the multi mediacentre in a compact smart looking compartment—we also made it easy to move by installing casters and topped it off by installing the sault college logo made in our laser department on the front panel. Several hours went into the final design but in the end all are happy with the final product to a point that we have been asked to quote on several more for sault college for various departments within the school.

Currently working on RBC securities in the Soo ---millwork doors and wood doors frames. Everything in cherry including the insides of the casework. The door frames are all nine feet in height and are built some with sidelights as one piece affairs prefinished-prepped for the doors-prepped for the glass-with the reveals attached. We worked with the drywaller to ensure a proper fit and reveal exposure. The doors were also part of our package which is highly recommended when prefinishing is involved.

We have several jobs on the books Husky Travel Centre, BDO, Dubreuilville Rec Centre, Country Style Donuts, Brookfield Power-all of which should take us into mid February.

This year has been a pleasant surprise as we have established new customers and our young firm has had a chance to become more established which has helped us pick up jobs by referral. We have been asked to supply millwork to two customers in Toronto by referral. We have been asked to bid jobs as far away as Thunder Bay.-we will be looking at various school tenders this spring and hopefully will be considered for more invitational tenders as well. The New Year will be a challenge as competition heats up but I for one think that a lot of what we are hearing is media driven fear mongering. Those that plan ahead, are creative and aren't afraid to look outside the box will have an easier time.
