With our background and excellent track record for custom curved architectural woodwork, Black Loon was selected to supply and install the reception desk, business centre desk and feature wall panels and mouldings. Part of our contract was to work with the owner to design the desks to be appealing yet functional. The wall panels and trims had to be laid out to flow into the metal window and door frames. The custom epoxy finish, metallic reveals and granite top worked in combination to create a unique and warm setting as guests are greeted or just relaxing in the lobby area of this downtown hotel.

Sault College Outback Pub
With this project Black Loon faced a unique challenge, design a bar that is functional, eye catching but within budget. The results were impressive. The curved modern design allows for a smooth flow from end to end and eliminates the harshness of square corners. An epoxy finish with metallic reveals sets off the front. A laminated solid maple top accentuates the entire design and contrasts well with the black epoxy while still maintaining that classic pub feel. The back of the bar was designed for functionality. A removable panel allows easy access to the bar infrastructure. A lower metallic counter flows into stainless appliances and a curved foot rail completes the look.
Service Rentals Order Desk
To compliment it's new location, Service Rentals & Sales asked us to build an order desk that was both appealing and durable enough for the construction indudsry. The result was a 2 level unit, with plastic laminate and a laminated maple top for durabilty. The lower unit features multiple drawers for storage and a desk workspace. We finished off the front with a custom engraved logo.
Nexus Canada Reception Desk
A fairly simple but elegant reception desk for Nexus Canada in Sudbury. It features a 2 level design with lower desk unit, double layer wall shelving and smaller lower drawers. The unit was stained to meet client specifications.

After a slow summer things have really begun to pick up here at Black Loon. Estimating has been bidding on a range of products in Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury and surrounding area. We've been successful on a multitude of bids and anticipate a very busy fall.

Current projects include the Sault airport, Husky, Station Mall, Hilton Beach, Camp Korah, Field Store and many others. We are hoping to begin a large project for a Sault Ste. Marie customer in November.

We’ve been working to increase our exposure in the Sudbury area. Derek LeMarquand has made several visits to the area to meet with local architects and general contractors and the response has been great.
