Black Loon Adds New Equipment to Improve Product Quality & Production

Black Loon Millworks International, northern Ontario’s largest architectural millwork manufacturer , announced today it has recently commissioned a new Advantage 70 edge bander machine.  Valued at over $170,000, the new edge bander will improve product quality and increase efficiency. This state-of-the-art computer driven CNC machine is the only one of its kind in all of Northern Ontario. It’s wide range of capabilities include pre-milling, contour profiling, corner rounding, 3mm PVC edging, 12mm solid wood edging and automatic change over.

 

Today’s announcement is part of Black Loon’s strategy to invest in modern equipment and technology to increase quality, production capabilities and competitiveness. The company recently hired Conestoga College graduate and Sault native Sarah Poitras to work with 20/20 Technologies software and plans to add a CNC Machining Centre in the near future. The locally owned company plans to invest more than $500,000 over the next 24 months and create 20 good paying manufacturing jobs.
