Jim Webb
General Manager
Jim Webb is the General
Manager of Black Loon Millworks International. He was
involved in the startup of the company and the development
of our new manufacturing facilities. He has also been
the lead on development of several different product
lines.
Jim is a seasoned industry veteran with
over 35 years experience in the manufacturing of an
extensive variety of wood products for both commercial
and residential purposes. Before leading the startup
of Black loon, Jim developed an outstanding career at
the former Michigan Maple Ltd. Right out of college
he started in the maintenance department before moving
up to assume the role of maintenance supervisor in 1976.
By 1980 Jim was promoted to Plant Superintendent where
he managed scheduling and daily production operations,
as well as ongoing maintenance of the plant.
In 1992 he became Plant Manager, a position
he retained until the owners of Michigan Maple decided
to close the mill in 2006. During his tenure Jim was
responsible for all facets of the operation, including
marketing, human resources, production and research
and development. Over the years, Jim developed many
niche products and processes that were unique to the
industry.
Jim has travelled extensively throughout
Canada and the United States to trade shows and client
site visits which enabled him to maintain excellent
customer relations and expand the client base. He is
very proficient in estimating and providing quotations
on standard and custom products.
Jim is active in all elements of
Black Loon from business development & marketing
to facilities maintenance & new product development.
