FAQ

How do I care for my solid wood top?

Your top will maintain its beauty for years to come if you follow these simple steps:

  1. Once your top is installed, oil it as soon as possible. Use mineral oil which is available at any pharmacy. Oil weekly for several weeks, then monthly for three months to protect the top while it is acclimatizing to your environment.

  2. Oil your top each season change, a minimum of 4 times per year, on top and all exposed sides.

  3. Do not allow water to stand on your top for extended periods of time. Clean up spills immediately.

  4. Do not use harsh cleaning agents, bleach or vinegar to clean your top. Use a soapy dishcloth and wipe the surface clean, then thoroughly dry.

  5. If your top starts to look dry or white looking this is an indication that it needs to be oiled.

Is wood a sanitary surface to have in the kitchen?
